Join us online for SOY’s annual fundraising event. Registration is now open for SOY QUIZathon 2020!
THE LANES MAY BE CLOSED BUT WE’LL STILL HAVE A BALL!
For the past twenty years, SOY’s annual Bowlathon has brought our community together while raising vital funds for LGBT2SQ youth programs and services. This year, due to social distancing regulations, we are taking our fundraiser online and having a pub-style quiz, where teams and individuals will compete by answering fun trivia questions while enjoying great entertainment and the chance to win some sensational prizes.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Fundraise on your own or with a team and then join us online at SOY QUIZathon 2020 knowing that your participation will have a direct impact on the lives of LGBT2SQ youth in our community.
As a program of Sherbourne Health, SOY is an innovative community development program offering holistic support and diverse programming to address the complex needs of LGBT2SQ youth aged 14-29 in Toronto. We create opportunities for youth to build resilience and confidence, improve health knowledge, and access community resources through group-based and one-to-one supports. At SOY, we aim to cultivate an inclusive, welcoming community, helping to reduce isolation, improve mental health, and support youth as they grow skills to take into their adult lives.
The SOY program could not exist without this annual fundraising event. Our goal this year is to raise $40,000 for SOY’s groups and activities, which translates into 7,000 annual youth visits to weekly SOY drop-in groups, one-to-one goal planning and mentoring, and access to community resources including housing, employment, education and social services. Our award-winning SOY program is extremely important to the LGBT2SQ community because it not only provides connections to essential mental health and housing services, but also offers a safe space for youth where they can feel nurtured, understood, and heard, which is essential to their overall wellbeing.
